10km, Half- and Full Marathon

Run in a unique ambiance

The course starts and ends in the Longyearbyen settlement, next to the sports facilities (Svalbard Hallen). It will take you to the Isfjord. From there it takes you through the Arctic wilderness, where along the way you may get company of reindeer, arctic foxes and perhaps.....

The course consists of 80% paved road and 20% unpaved (Graffel).

Every 5 kilometers a water and food point with (hot / lukewarm) water, juices and energy drinks.

Armed security guards on the trail for protection against polar bears./p>

1/2 & full marathon

Did you choose to run the entire marathon? Then you run 2x the course of the 1/2 marathon!

We start and finish at the Svalbard Hallen. This is at an altitude of 53 meters above sea level. The trail then descends to sea level to have a climb / drop to 50 meters between 10km and 13km in the trail. From 15km the climb to the Svalbard Hallen where the finish line starts, or if you run the entire marathon, starts is. If you run the entire marathon, you must have had the finish within 3 hours.
